This identity was created for the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina (HSEC). There are several other shelters and rescues in eastern North Carolina that all have similar marks, so HSEC needed to stand out to local adopters and donors. During many of our meetings, it was repeated that collars and tags were signs of an adopted or owned animal that belonged to a family. I strongly agreed with this and felt that creating a mark as simple as a tag, heart, and paw print would make for an iconic symbol that was easily distinguishable from similar organizations nearby.
